Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is a professional society based in the United Kingdom with over 50,000 members worldwide. Founded in 1841, RSC is the largest organization in Europe for advancing the chemical sciences. RSC partners with industry and academia, advises governments on policy, and promotes the talent, collaboration, innovation, information and ideas that lead to great advances in science. The designation Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) is given to elected Fellows who have made significant contributions to the chemical sciences. The names of newly elected Fellows are published each year in The Times (London).

Previously professor Yury Gogotsi has been elected as a fellow of Materials Research Society (MRS Fellow), American Ceramic Society (ACS Fellow), American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), The Electrochemical Society, as well as Academician of the World Academy of Ceramics and Full Member of the International Institute for the Science of Sintering. He has authored/co-authored two books, more than 450 peer-reviewed papers, edited 13 books and obtained more than 50 patents. His research has been recognized with a European Carbon Association Award, S. Somiya Award from the International Union of Materials Research Societies, Ross Coffin Purdy and Roland B.
